The opening ceremony for The Schmitt and Hinüber literary prize: Mr. Roland Von Hinüber, Co -President

Welcome to The Schmitt and Hinuber literary prize and M.O.P International Cultural and Educational Programs (ICEP) which are recommended by the British Consulate in Nuremberg since 2016 and generally funded by the Schmitt plus Sohn intercontinental company. Thanks to the advances in technology and tele-teaching (e-Learning) the non-English speaking students will have a great opportunity to enjoy a British consulate recommended journey!

 

The Schmitt and Hinüber Prize for creative writing is an international award for the best writers of poetry, short stories, and papers. The prize has been established in the name of M.O.P.’s peace ambassadors in Germany and occurs every two years. The aim of the prize is to reflect the very best sense of peace through the language of literature lovers from around the world. The contest has been already presented two times in 2018 and 2020. Schmitt and Hinuber prize

The 2022 prize is now open for submissions, and writers, poets, and researchers can submit their works for consideration until the deadline of January 16,  2022. Titles eligible for entry must address peace notions. We will be announcing this year’s judges shortly. The winning writer will be awarded a joint certificate from the British H. Consulate and the executive committee, free visa letter for a 6 months-period of English studies at IELS.

Details

  • The contest will be held in three steps: 1) early registration 2) submission of works 3) interview and announcement of results.
  • Contestants are welcome to submit poems, short stories, or papers.
  • Poems must be 1 page, short fiction entries should be 3 pages, and papers should not be more than 10 pages.
  • You may submit your work in any language you are proficient.
  • Entries must be the original work of the authors, poets and researchers.
  • Entries must be unpublished works, and must not have been sent for other national or international contests.
  • Each work must be thematically related to the notion of “peace” including environmental, social, cultural issues, and other relevant topics.
  • Creativity is one of the paramount components of the contest.

Notes

  • There are no limitations on entrants with respect to age, nationality, living place or professional status.
  • There is no entry fee for participation in the contest.
  • All contestants are required to fill in the application form for early registration.
  • All contestants must type and submit their works in these files (English and other languages; Persian); otherwise their works would not be taken into consideration.
  • Entries must be submitted in Word format with the first name + last name.
  • Researchers must follow MLA referencing style.
  • All entries should be emailed to: literaryprize@messengersofpeace.net with “Prize 2022 Entry” in the subject line.
  • Entries will be received from Sunday 12 December 2021. 
  • The deadline for this year’s contest is Saturday 19 February 2022. 
  • Failure to comply with details and notes of the contest will remove the ineligible entries.
