What are the advantages of developing your language skills with the help of a native teacher?

Have you ever had language courses with native instructors? In your opinion, what was significant about their classes?

If you ask someone who had experienced courses with native teachers, they will tell you about their amazing experience and the fact that they had no choice but to speak to and understand their teacher. Well, I know “having no choice” is a negative word, and I know many of you may have experienced something completely different from what you read earlier, but believe me, language courses with native instructors are better for you. Here are four reasons why.

  1. The language you want to learn is your instructor’s mother tongue!

Teaching a new language is not an easy task, and teaching your language to other people, is not an easy task either. But the person who tends to teach their own language to enthusiasts knows how to transfer the necessary knowledge. So, don’t be afraid to ask your native teacher why, because they know it all!

Punctuations also matter! Sometimes if you hear the punctuation of a word, wrong, you cannot delete it from your conscious mind.

  1. Live and learn in present!

Want to know the most recent viral slang and the tone you should use in different situations? Although most of us may already be familiar with some slang and tones, no one can inform you better than your native instructor in this. The native instructors are the living representation of the language and the culture you are trying to learn. They will teach you where and how to use words and phrases. For example, you may hear a phrase somewhere and use it in your writings, dialogs, and almost everywhere, but if a native speaker hears that phrase, they may laugh at you and tell you they don’t live in Shakespeare’s era anymore.

Working with a native instructor is a great opportunity for people who want to migrate. Knowing the cultural dos and don’ts before entering a country will be a great help in your early relations.

  1. There is no “I can’t” anymore, there is “I should”!

Yes, you should! Your native teacher may not understand your mother tongue, that is why you have to learn to communicate with your teacher or you will not get anything from the class. This is a great motivation for people who flee from speaking the target language. Although it might be difficult for you to follow your instructor, you will get used to it and come to a better listener out of this experience.

  1. Are you scared to speak to a native? Well not anymore!

Most of us may be scared to speak to a native. When your teacher is a native speaker, you will get used to speaking to native speakers and will reach a stage where if you look back, you will see that there was nothing to be scared of.

Nothing can be perfect, which means, with all those advantages, there must be some disadvantages in developing your language skills with the help of native speakers, like hardships of early sessions. Learning a language with native speakers has more advantages than disadvantages, but anyway, this is you who must choose your desirable instructor. Good luck!
